If you are looking for more information on items advertised in the Trading Post or if you are “just looking”, move your mouse over the icons to the left to find the one you need to click on.  A description will appear in the window below.  If it does not, make sure your browser is set to recognize java script.

Growing season 2007 was a real trial.  I am looking forward to 2008 and hope for better conditions, but, this is the Midwest, so we never know what to expect.  I have most of my seeds and other supplies ordered, and am working at getting plants started and the seedlings repotted.  The garlic that I put in last fall is coming along nicely, as are the over-wintered blood-veined sorrel and leeks.  Jerusalem artichokes are up and the strawberry plants that were set out a few weeks back are leafing out.  I am farming 1.25 acres of vegetables and fruits this season, so if things will dry out enough for me to get seeds in the ground, there should be a great variety of produce available.  Check back for updates.  I sell directly from my place of residence and this year, 3 local stores will also be carrying my produce.  The Casbah Market in downtown Lawrence is currently stocking the produce I have available as well as my homemade jam and fresh eggs.  Later in the season you will find MWB produce at The Merc and The Mediterranean Market.

I offered a new Subscription Service last year, and am continuing with that this season.  I had hoped to have early vegetables ready by the first part of April, but this has been a cool, wet spring and I wasn’t able to get much planted early; Spring multiplier onions, baby garlic, a few herbs, eggs, and some canned goods are available now.  I hope that you take the time to browse the site, and please, return frequently, as this is truly a "Work In Progress". Although I try to keep my listings as up-to-date as possible, this just does not always happen.  Feel free to send an email with any of your questions / comments.

To learn about Sharon and the business

MWB Produce raises a wide variety of vegetables, fruits, and herbs.  I am especially passionate about tomatoes, peppers, and eggplants, but also raise numerous varieties of everything from beans to watermelon, corn to squash, and literally, everything in between.  I produce canned and dried fruit and vegetable products from the excess, as well as custom baked goods, and gift items.  I raise many varieties of houseplants and although in limited quantities, bedding plants (vegetables, annual flowers, and ornamentals) and perennial flowers and ornamentals.  A number of my vegetable and herb plants, as well as flowers and ornamentals, are made into container gardens, to adorn your porch or patio or provide fresh veggies in a limited growing space.  I can also make these to order if you have particular types or varieties in mind.  We also raise poultry (chickens, ducks, geese, and turkeys), hogs, beef heifers, and horses.  At this time, we are not licensed to sell meat, but fresh eggs are available (ungraded).

Gardeners who have in the past been frustrated by the lack of bedding plant varieties available and their inability to produce their own can relax, as they can now order as many plants as they want of whatever variety they choose from virtually any of the seed houses currently in the market.  I am no longer taking orders for the 2008 season, but I am willing to reserve any extras of the plant varieties that I, myself, will use, on a first-come, first-served basis. See the various produce listings for varieties that I will be growing for my own use.

Fresh vegetable lovers who yearn for something a little different will always be satisfied with MWB Produce. Of course, all items will be as fresh as possible and of top quality. For those who are unsure of the preparation methods, tips will be posted on this site or I will be glad to answer specific questions via e-mail.  Homegrown quality and flavor are available year-round by the jar and hassle-free in the form of numerous canned and dried products and limited quantities of frozen berries and chestnuts.

All items available at MWB Produce and T'n'T Resale can be delivered, if desired.  Due to the high cost of fuel, etc. I must charge for this service.

MWB Produce has something for everyone!
